Sehwag's 74 balls 125 runs sealed India's Series won vs New Zealand

A fiery inning of 125 runs off just 74 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes helped not only to win the 4th ODI but also sealed series win by 3-0 for India after a long time in New Zealand on Wednesday, 11th March, 2009 at Hamilton. India won the match by 84 runs under Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain interrupted game.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first scored 270 runs in 47 overs in a rain shorten match thanks to McCullum and McGlashan scored 77 and 56 not out respectively.

In reply, Sehwag made fastest century by an Indian and the seventh fastest in one-day international history which comes in just 60 balls. Sachin Tendulkar hit his first century in New Zealand as India beat New Zealand by 58 runs in a high scoring game at Christchurch on Sunday, 8th March, 2009 and take a 2-0 lead in 5 match series. India scored 392/4 in 50 overs and bowled out New Zealand on 334 in 45.1 overs.

India batting first reduced to 65/2 but a superb batting display by Sachin Tendulkar and Yuraj Singh put 138 runs partnership in 16 overs. Tendukar was retired hurt after 163 runs off 133 balls with 16 fours and 5 sixes, Yuraj scored 87 off 60 balls with 10 fours and 6 sixes. Indian selectors has announced the both ODI and Test teams for the 2009 tour of New Zealand. Mumbai pacer, Dhawal Kulkarni got a call in the test team just after 6 months after his first-class debut as he was highest wicket taker this season with 42 wickets. L Balaji also come back in the test team after returning in ODIs.

Harbhajan Singh and Munaf Patel after missing the ODI series in Sri Lanka back in the team. Dinesh Karthik will be the reserve keeper for the entire series while Ravider Jadeja got a chance only in Twenty20 team.
