Fifth and final ODI between India and Sri Lanka cancelled after 23.3 overs due to poor pitch at Feroz Sha Kotla Ground Delhi. Spectators got angry and damaged the ad banners in the ground.










5th ODI at Delhi abandoned - India won the series 3-1, Dilshan Man of the Series

Long series between host India and Sri Lanka ended in a sad manner as 5th and final ODI at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Delhi was abandoned due to poor and unplayable and dangerous nature of pitch.

There was uneven and unpredictable bounce and several deliveries hit Dilshan and Jayasuriya and match called off after 23.3 overs and Sri Lanka was struggling at 83/5. Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets.

Tilakratne Dilshan got Man of the Series award for his 353 runs in 5 innings with two centuries.

India vs Sri Lanka 5th ODI Preview at Delhi - Ind v SL Fifth One Day Teams

Fifth and final one day between India and Sri Lanka will be played on Sunday, 27th December, 2009 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi in day-night game and timing will be 14.30 IST, 09.00 GMT. This match is dead rubber as India already won the 5 match series by 3-1.

India has a habit of loosing the final match after winning the series and they will try to break the jinx as regular captain Dhoni back in team after 2 match ban. Virat Kohli and Gambhir shown good batting display in the last match as host trying to extend their lead.

Sri Lanka will try to win this match to end their tour with a +ve note otherwise a forgattable series as they lost test series, drawn T20 series and lost ODI series. Tharanga laying well after early departure of Dilshan.

Ind v SL 4th ODI Result - Gambhir & Kohli's century helps India won by 7 wickets, won series by 3-1

India succefully chased 315 runs in the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka thanks to brilliant centuries by Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli and won the match by 7wickets with 11 balls remaining and won the 5 match series by 3-1 on Thursday, 4th December, 2009 at Edens Garden Kolkata.
Sri Lanka made 315-6 in 50 overs thanks to century by opener Upul Tharanga 118 runs and Sangakkara's 60 runs. India then lost openers early but the Gambhir and Kohli put 24 runs in 35 overs scored unbeaten 150* runs off 137 balls with 14 fours and 107 runs off 114 balls with 11 fours and a six.


India vs Sri Lanka 4th ODI Preview at Kolkata - Ind v SL Fourth One Day Teams

Fourth ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played on Thursday, 24th December, 2009 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata after 3 years time in a day-night game and timing is 14.30 IST, 09.00 GMT. India leading the 5 match series by 2-1.

India won the last match comfortably but in this match both middle order batsmen Dhoni and Yuraj will not be available for this match as Dhoni is banned for 2 matches and Yuvraj is ruled out of the series.

Sri Lanka after a good start collapsed in the middle as Angelo Mathews is out due to injury and Mahela Jayawardhane is not in form. Sri Lanka has to win this game to stay alive in the series.

India won the 3rd one day by seven wickets due to brilliant all round performance as Ravinder Jadeja got Man of the Match for his 4 wickets for 32 runs and then Tendulkar safely guided India to another victory with unbeaten 96* runs just missed his century.










Ind v SL3rd ODI Result - Jadeja and Tendulkar stars in 7 wicket win to take 2-1 lead

India beat Sri Lanka convincingly by 7 wicket in the 3rd ODI and have taken a very important 2-1 lead in the 5 match series on Monday, 21st December, 2009 at Cuttack. Sri Lanka made 239 all out in 44.2 overs while India made 242/3 in 42.4 overs.

Sri Lanka got a flying start by Dilshan (41) and Tharanga (73) put 65 runs in 6 overs and they were very good position with 165-1 in 22 overs but they lost 9 wickets for 74 runs and all out on just 239 runs due to brilliant bowling by Hadeja who took 4 wickets for 32 runs.

India then started well as Sehwag played his usual inning of 28 balls 44 runs and then Tendulkar played an anchor inning of unbeaten 96 runs just missed one more century and ensured an easy win.

After two high scoring match and 5 match series level by 1-1, India and Sri Lanka is ready for the third one day on Monday, 21st December, 2009 at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack in a day-night game starting timing is 14.30 IST, 09.00 GMT.

Indian bowling and fielding is really a worry as they lost mainly because of poor fielding. Captain Dhoni has been banned for 2 matches for slow over rate in the 2nd ODI, and Virender Sehwag will lead the team. Dinesh Karthik has been called up to replace Dhoni.

Sri Lanka won the 2nd ODI by 3 wickets at Nagpur as they successfully chased 301 runs. Tilakratne Dilshan got Man of the Match for his consecutive century.

Tilakratne Dilshan's hit back to back century but this time helps Sri Lanka to win the 2nd ODI by 3 wickets in a high scoring thriller against India to level the 5 match series 1-1 at Nagpur on Friday, 18th December, 2009.

After a thrilling high scoring 1st one day India and Sri Lanka is ready to extend their fight in the second one day on Friday, 18th December, 2009 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur in a day-night game and timing will be 14.30 IST, 09.00 GMT. India leading the 5 match series by 1-0.

India missed Yuvraj Singh in the 1st ODI in the middle as if he were there India could reach 450+ runs, his availabilty is still not confirmed yet. Harbhajan Singh bowled brilliantly in the tough conditions. India has to improve their fielding to avoid the embarrasements as they were dropping sitters.

Sri Lanka fough really well but it swas so near yet so far and they need to finish the close matches as this was the 3rd time against India. Dilshan and Sangakkra is in great form and they have to continue their form to come back in the series.
